Privacy & Terms

The short version

  • 📰 We read public FPL data(team names, manager names, standings) to write your league’s editions.
  • 📧 We only email people who opted in and confirmed — unsubscribe anytime, per league or entirely.
  • 🍪 We don’t sell your data. Any analytics or advertising cookies load only if you agree — and your saved leagues stay on your own device.
  • 🗑️ Want anything corrected, anonymised or deleted? Email us — we’ll sort it.

Who we are

FPL Mundo (“we”) is a fan-made Fantasy Premier League mini-league newspaper, run by an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. For data-protection purposes, FPL Mundo is the data controller. Contact: hello@fplmundo.com.

Disclaimer

FPL Mundo is a fan-made, parody-style commentary presented as a fictional football media world for entertainment purposes only. It is unofficial and not affiliated with the Premier League, the Fantasy Premier League, any media company, football club, or sporting organisation.

Quotes, opinions and reactions attributed to real-world footballers, coaches, pundits and other public figures are invented as parody. They are not real statements, have not been endorsed by those individuals, and should not be taken as fact. (Quotes from a league’s own managers, gathered through Press Conferences, are real — see below.)

Some content is intentionally humorous or fictional, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of all statistics or information presented.

“Press Conferences” — real manager quotes

Manager quotes are submitted by managers who registered for the feature (or were invited via league-provided contact details and confirmed their participation) and are published in good faith.

Views expressed in quotes are those of the individual managers and do not necessarily reflect the views of FPL Mundo. Managers are asked to keep content respectful and family-friendly; we may edit or remove content that does not meet these standards.

If you believe a quote has been misattributed, is incorrect, or you would like it removed, contact us and we will review and correct it promptly.

The data we process, and why

WhatWhyLawful basis (UK/EU GDPR)
Public FPL dataTeam names, manager names, league standings, transfers and picks from the official FPL API — used to generate your league’s editions, profiles and history.Legitimate interests — publishing commentary on publicly available fantasy-football data.
Email addressesEdition alerts and Press Conference invitations you (or your league admin, with your confirmation) signed up for.Consent — double opt-in; withdraw anytime via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
Press Conference repliesYour written answers, quoted in editions and summarised into Manager Profile ratings.Consent, given at registration.
Site feedbackThe page you were on, the message you typed, and an email address only if you chose to leave one — so we can look at the problem and reply if you asked.Legitimate interests — running and improving the service. You choose to send it.
Membership detailsName, email and membership status from Patreon, plus your league number — to unlock member features. We never see payment details; Patreon handles payment under its own privacy policy.Contract (providing the membership you signed up for).
Technical dataIP addresses in short-lived server logs and rate-limiting counters — to keep the service running and prevent abuse.Legitimate interests — security and service integrity.
Tagged-link campaignIf you arrive on a tagged advert URL, a campaign name is kept in this tab’s session storage so a later click through to Patreon can still be counted against that link. A Meta click id (fbclid), if present, is kept the same way so the membership click can be matched to the ad. Closing the tab forgets those. We also log the campaign name plus a short daily fingerprint of the connection (not your address — it cannot be turned back into one, and it changes every day) so a later membership click can still be joined to that landing.Legitimate interests — measuring which tagged links lead to the membership page. Separate from the analytics banner.
Membership clickWhen you click through to Patreon, the hop page sends a Lead to Reddit and, when Meta ads are configured, to Meta (browser pixel plus a server event that includes your IP address and browser type). That is how we count the click for the ads, including when an ad-blocker hides the pixel. The hop log also records the previous page on this site (path only), or just the hostname if you came from elsewhere — never the full URL. Separate from the analytics banner.Legitimate interests — measuring which ads lead to a membership click.
Analytics & advertisingWhere enabled: measuring how the site is used and, for advertising, helping fund FPL Mundo — for example Google Analytics, the Reddit Ads pixel, the Meta Pixel, and Google AdSense.Consent — via the cookie banner; withdraw at any time.

Where your data comes from

If you’re a manager in a mini-league, your team name, manager name and FPL performance may appear on FPL Mundo because someone in your league entered your league number — the data itself comes from the official, publicly accessible FPL API. If you’d prefer your entry not to appear, contact us and we can exclude it.

Your email address may be submitted by your league administrator for features such as Press Conferences. In that case we send a single invitation, and only continue emailing you if you confirm.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers (processors) to run FPL Mundo:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage and email delivery (primary region: Frankfurt, EU).
  • Vercel — website hosting, content delivery, and aggregate visitor counts that use no cookies and build no profile of you.
  • Google — where analytics and/or advertising are enabled, and only with your consent (for example Google Analytics and Google AdSense; provided by Google Ireland Limited, and may involve transfer to the United States under standard contractual clauses).
  • Reddit — where you consent to analytics, a conversion pixel tells us whether Reddit ads led people here; a Lead is also sent from the membership hop so the click itself is visible (provided by Reddit, Inc., and may involve transfer to the United States under standard contractual clauses).
  • Meta — where you consent to analytics, a conversion pixel measures ads; a Lead is also sent from the membership hop (browser plus our server) so ad-blockers cannot hide the click (provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, and may involve transfer to the United States under standard contractual clauses).

We do not sell personal data. Where we use analytics or advertising, those cookies are set only with your consent (see Cookies & local storage below), and you can change your choice at any time.

International transfers

Data is primarily stored in the EU (Frankfurt). Some infrastructure providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, transfers are covered by recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep things

  • Email addresses— your per-league subscriptions expire automatically at the end of each season (30 June). Your address stays on the edition-alerts list so we can tell you when the new season’s editions start; unsubscribe at any time and it’s removed.
  • Published editions (including manager quotes) — retained as published content; we will remove or anonymise content on request.
  • Server logs and rate-limit records — short-lived and rotated automatically.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data-protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, restrict or object to how we use it, or withdraw consent (this doesn’t affect processing before you withdrew). Email hello@fplmundo.comand we’ll respond within one month. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority — though we’d rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.

Cookies & local storage

We keep this deliberately minimal:

  • Saved leagues— stored in your browser’s local storage on your device so you can jump back to leagues you’ve read. Never sent to us as a profile; remove leagues anytime from “Your leagues”.
  • Notice preference— remembers that you’ve dismissed the first-visit notice.
  • Tagged-link campaign— if you arrive from an advert or other tagged link, we remember that campaign name (and a Meta click id, if the URL had one) in your browser’s session storage for this tab only. That way, if you click through to Patreon after reading another page, we can still tell which link sent you. We never see your name, and closing the tab forgets it. Separately, our server logs a short daily fingerprint of the connection (not the address) on that landing and on the Patreon click, plus the previous-page path on the click, so the two can be joined. This is not an analytics cookie and is not tied to the banner.
  • Analytics & advertising cookies — where enabled, these help us understand how the site is used and, for advertising, help fund it (for example Google Analytics, the Reddit Ads pixel, the Meta Pixel, and Google AdSense). They are set only if you consent — until you agree, no analytics cookies are stored and no identifier that could recognise you is collected — and you can change your choice at any time.
  • Counting visits without cookies — separately from the above, our host counts page views so we know how many people reach the site. It stores nothing on your device and cannot recognise you: the count is worked out at our end from the request, and the working is discarded the same day. Because nothing is read from or written to your device, it needs no consent and continues whether you accept analytics or decline.

Children

FPL Mundo is not directed at children. If you believe we have published data relating to a child and would like it removed, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Acceptable use & content rights

You agree not to use this site in any way that is unlawful or harmful, or that could damage or disrupt the service (including automated scraping at disruptive volumes).

Content created by FPL Mundo should not be reproduced without permission — sharing edition screenshots with your league is, of course, exactly the point.

Changes to this page

We’ll post any changes here with an updated date, and flag material changes on the site.
