Zebtrox X Takes Crown With Two To Go
Zebtrox X's Cherki Business have climbed to the summit of the Nutmeg Nation with just two gameweeks remaining, leaving even the most optimistic pundits scrambling to update their preseason predictions. "Everything we've worked for is within reach," beamed supporter Danny Whitlock, before adding with admirable self-awareness, "And by 'we', I mean the players and staff. I've just been watching." Jonah Pike, whose Isak and Destroy side trail by a mere nine points in second, offered a measured assessment: “Fair play, the bench boost landed and he's set up nicely for the run-in. But heavy lies the crown — two gameweeks is a long time.” With Marco U's Big Trossard Energy lurking just five points behind Pike in third, the title race remains deliciously poised.

TITLE BID FIZZLES OUT FOR MUTINY
The title dream isn’t dead - but it doesn't look good. The Kane Mutiny’s push looks to have run out of steam as Cherki Business moved 51 points clear. For a team tipped for mid-table, it’s been a memorable campaign. “They’ve punched well above their weight,” said Chris Sutton. “But you can’t fake it this late in the season. They’ve just not had that extra gear when it mattered most.”

R DEFIES THE ODDS IN QUARTER-FINAL
Rated the less fancied side before the season, Alex R's Semenyo Regrets have sent Lucas Vermeer's Palmer Trees packing from the Nutmeg Nation League Cup with a 86-69 win in the quarter-final. "Cup football is a great equaliser," said Jamie Carragher. "And today it's equalised Vermeer right out of the competition." All results in the League Cup this week: Cherki Business beat Ooh Aah Cantona 101-80, Isak and Destroy beat Big Trossard Energy 80-76, Busta Gyokeres beat The Kane Mutiny 69-67 and Semenyo Regrets beat Palmer Trees 86-69. R refused to speak to our reporter about this after the match.

Mistry Takes Blame Despite Bench Boost Bonanza
Rohan Mistry cut a deflated figure despite Believe XI's 96-point haul in gameweek 36, their Bench Boost chip delivering 24 points via Thiago, Kadioglu, Calvert-Lewin and Raya. “Kind of you, but it's about eight weeks late,” the manager sighed, sat 12th and two points adrift of the top ten. “I wanted the title and I'm nowhere near it. Nice week for the chip, but the season was bad luck early and worse decisions after that, and that one's on me. Two games left — full throttle, and then I'd quite like to do it all again next year!!” Nothing says "full throttle" quite like existential dread and two exclamation marks.

SEVEN-POINT "BENCH BOOST" FLOP FOR HAVERTZ SO GOOD
Frustrated Havertz fans bemoaned manager Radu Balan's decision to use the full squad this week, with substitutes Pickford, Garner, Collins and Hall only chipping in 7 points. One told FPL Mundo that "it doesn't matter how many players you play when the players aren't good enough." Rival manager Marcus Reeve refused to speak to our reporter about this after the match.

Vermeer Vows Bounce-Back After Triple-Captain Disaster
Lucas Vermeer remained defiant despite his triple-captain gamble on Nico O'Reilly spectacularly backfiring in Palmer Trees' 69-point disaster. Roy Keane and Gary Neville had savaged the decision before a ball was kicked, with Neville questioning whether Vermeer had been "influenced by content-creators." Asked post-match if he regretted ignoring Keane's wisdom, the seventh-placed manager replied: “When you're behind you have to swing at something. It didnt come off. There's always next season — I'll be back, surely.” The message, helpfully signed off "Sent from Outlook for Android," suggests Vermeer is already looking ahead—perhaps from his mobile, possibly from a beach. With two gameweeks remaining and just three points separating him from sixth, next season might arrive sooner than he'd like.

Brack's Captaincy Gamble Backfires as Haaland Delivers
Owen Brack rolled the dice and came up snake eyes in Gameweek 36, handing the armband to Bruno Fernandes over Erling Haaland—a decision that backfired spectacularly when the Norwegian bagged eleven points while his Portuguese rival mustered a meagre three. Daniel Sturridge didn't mince words on Ings And Roundabouts's broadcast, declaring Haaland had sent a message: "I'm the man. And I should be the captain of this side." Still, an 86-point haul represents a minor triumph for Brack's sixteenth-placed outfit. Fourth-placed Vard Ix offered a diplomatic take on the captaincy gamble: “With hindsight, not the wisest call. But if you're behind you take every differential you're offered.” Fair enough—when you're scrapping in the lower reaches, fortune favours the brave. Or the foolhardy. Often both.

BUSTA GYOKERES SNEAK PAST THE KANE MUTINY 69-67 IN QUARTER-FINAL UPSET
The league table doesn't separate Sander FPL RIOT's Busta Gyokeres and Priya K's Kane Mutiny much, but the pre-season ratings did — and Busta Gyokeres were on the wrong side of them. Not that it mattered. Busta Gyokeres edged it 69-67 in the quarter-final to send K home. "You know what, good on them," said Gary Neville. "Nobody gave RIOT a prayer before the season. They're still in the cup. K isn't. That says it all." Manager Sander FPL RIOT declined to speak about this in the postmatch press-conference.

“At the outset, I would like to congratulate you on the outstanding work you have been doing with FPL Mundo. It's funny and witty, and I look forward to reading the "news" after every game week! “I've basically stopped doing my updates, this is miles better, different managers get a mention instead of the same heads every week. It's miles funnier too….the managers in the league like it also…the pre and post mundos are a highlight of the GW.”
“I've been using Press Conferences for a few months now, and I can honestly say it's a really fun addition. It makes mini-leagues feel a lot more alive.”
