Joe Lepper's Joes Team took the privileged Match of the Day top slot on the opening gameweek of the 2026/27 Gert Lush Bristol FPL ML season - putting in a fine 79-point showing, with White and M.Sangare looking particularly sharp on the opening day. The Teams didn't have it all their own way, however, with Tom M's Milambo No 5 just 3 points behind by the end of the gameweek.

Joe Lepper, Tom M, Gunners Girl, Andy Gait, Nathan Stacey, Spencer Barrowman, Tom C WGTA, Duncan Butler, Thomas Hartnell, James Wojcik, Charles Hazel, Stefan Harbron, Andrew Wilson, David Hickman, Andy North and Mark Edworthy will need deep squads this season, with the Gert Lush Bristol FPL ML sides also competing in the elite Official FPL Top 1% league on the back of outstanding performances last season. Meanwhile 22 other sides will be representing in the Top 10% league. Risking No Salah fans will feel particularly unlucky to have missed out on the Top 1% league with a finish of 165912 (1.28%) last year - a fact not lost on opposition fans in preseason games, who repeatedly taunted Woolcock's side with chants of "Thursday night, Channel Five."

GUNNERS GIRL CONFIRMED LEAGUE'S BIGGEST SHEEP
The new manager profile cards have confirmed what many long suspected - that Gunners Glory manager Gunners Girl is officially the biggest sheep in the Gert Lush Bristol FPL ML, with a copycat rating of 88%. "The new system is more advanced" said Graham Souness. "It's not just looking at the most selected players on the FPL site now - Girl can't claim that. The new system - the new system looks at the teams of the content creators and tipsters, and compares you specifically with them. And Girl copied the lot of them. The biggest sheep in the league. Terrible."

BENCH BOOST DELIGHT FOR GIRL
Whilst the "Bench Boost" chip wasn't quite enough to make a league high score, Gunners Glory manager Gunners Girl will still be quietly happy with the 28 points contributed by substitutes Kinsky, Rodon, M.Sangare and Gomez this gameweek.

"COMPLETE PLAYER" PALMER SHOWS RIVALS WHAT THEY'RE MISSING
Gert Lush Bristol FPL ML neutrals were full of praise for Palmer this week, as the lesser-spotted Dominant Sloppyszlai man put in a thirteen-point complete performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist. Despite this, compared to their usual standards it was an acceptable but uninspiring 59 point gameweek for the Sloppyszlais.

CALVERT-LEWIN, MAGUIRE AND SHAW TURN OFF THE STYLE FOR CHARACTERS
Unsupported Characters manager Mark Edworthy will undoubtedly be looking back on this gameweek with disappointment, with disappointing performances from Calvert-Lewin, Maguire and Shaw leading to the fortieth-placed side picking up a mere 43 points this week. "That's not very many points," observed Michael Owen. Fans also questioned Edworthy's decision to not start six point Joe Rodon - "What was the point in buying Rodon if we're going to leave him on the bench? Unbelievable."

QUEENS THIAGO WATCHES GOALFEST FROM SIDELINES
Slay Queens manager Effie Glover deployed striker Igor Thiago Nascimento Rodrigues as a false nine this gameweek - the striker skirted around the edges of the box all game, ghosting into unthreatening positions and managing to not be involved in any of the three goals scored. "You've got to hand it to Thiago", said Adrian Chiles. "Glover's asked him to try something new, and he's taken to it like a duck to water." Thiago accrued a fantastic 1.0 expected goals and 0.08 expected assists in the thrashing.
